This is how you can run your get stronger, stay injury free, and run your PR...

On race day, everything boils down to you, the course, and your fitness.

At this point, you've worked hard. You've run whenever you could fit it into your schedule. So you've done everything you can with the time you have.

You feel as ready as possible.

The race goes off, and things seem to be going well. Your legs feel fine, the crowd support has you excited, and your pace is quick.

But then it happens - again.

Your HR goes up, and your pace starts to slow. The next mile is only five seconds off of your goals pace, you can still salvage the race. So you pick it up. But when the next mile comes your pace has slowed even more. You are working harder and running slower.

You are well off your goal pace, so you focus on just finishing.

You finish the race without a PR. You are still proud of your effort, but wish you could have run a little faster.

Then it's back to training. But we've established you already work hard

with the time you have - so you don't know what you should change.

It's confusing to know if you are doing the things that will make you faster.

The truth is there are a lot of ways to structure a running plan. And they will all work for somebody.

But that takes trial and error. Trial and error takes time and more races without a PR.

If you are going to take time out of your schedule, you want to make sure you are doing the things that will work for you. Your experience. Your goals. Your timeline.

High achievers and doers don't need a kick in the butt to get out the door. For someone like you, clear and specific direction is critical. You are going to do the work either way - but doing the right work is what will make the difference in your race results.

This is where we can guide you.

We help athletes who want to know how fast they can run on race day. At Reinforced Running, we coach athletes one-on-one to help them maximize their potential.

Everything is custom-built around you. You will have the confidence that the workouts you are doing will make you faster.

How I Will Help You Run Faster

My name is Rich Ryan and I've been a running coach for over a decade 10 years and running a competitive runner for the majority of my life.

I coach athletes of all levels. From the first time marathoner, multiple time Boston qualifiers, and dominant racers who stand on podiums.

During my time as a coach, I have taken my knowledge of endurance, strength training, and anecdotal experience to develop a philosophy that makes runners faster.

Can you answer "yes" to any of the following questions?

What you need is a clear direction and a plan that will help you as an athlete. You need context around who you are as an athlete.

Everyone is coming to our sport with different needs. That is why there is no such thing as a one size fits all program.

Let me tell you about Dawn.

Dawn is a highly competitive runner who came into the sport of running later in life.

During her fitness journey, she lost 40 lbs with running being the backbone of her exercise.

She ran. Lost weight. Got faster.

Then it all stopped.

After running over 15 marathons, one of which included a Boston qualifier, she found herself stuck.

She just could not get back to the fitness or her confidence.

But she would not give up. She dove into any and all resources available to her.

She tried new stretches, new shoes, different training plans, and even different coaches. But she would always end up in the same spot post-race.

Frustrated and confused.

She was doing everything she could, but could not break through.

That’s when we started working together.

We made a custom plan that was built around the things that Dawn needed.

Real strength workouts to build a strong foundation, custom paces to fit her needs for improvement and recovery, nutrition targets to improve her body composition without sacrificing her performance.

After a few months, she started to see real results.

She now has clear trajectory to get back to her fastest running yet.

How to get better results is a matter of learning what you need as an athlete. Plain and simple.

How to get run faster is a matter of learning what you need as an athlete.

Plain and simple.

There is not secret. Just context. But how do you know what will work for you?

This is where custom coaching from Reinforced Running can help...

How a Runner Made the Most of his Talent

Doug is more talented than 98% of runners, but he knows that talent alone does not cut it. His results are a testament to the dedication it takes to get the most out of what you are given.

Doug comes from a traditional running background. He was a high-level runner in high school and continued his career at a Division 1 school.
But when it ended, Doug was a bit lost and cautious when it came to his training.

“Having competed at the Division 1 level ten years ago, would I be able to return to some semblance of my past self with the help of a coach? Would I agree with the training methodology? How much more does the coach know than what I already know about running?”

On top of his apprehension to start a new training system
Doug also works a demanding job, has a long commute, and a busy schedule. So he wakes up at 4 am (sometimes 3 am!) to run.

Doug wanted to make sure that his time spent was going to pay off in the long term, so throughout the process, we made sure to create feedback to ensure that he was getting faster.

“As we progressed through training it became more and more clear that I had made the right decision. With Rich's guidance, there were quantifiable returns as each week progressed that would have been impossible to achieve on my own. In conjunction with regular one on one communication Rich used his vast knowledge to adapt my training plan on the fly based on variables like fatigue, weather, and previous workouts.”

Doug has put in the work and he has PR’s to show for it including a 53:30 10 mile PR and a 1:12:20 Half marathon victory.

This isn't just about PRs and finisher medals

At the end of the day, your goals are pretty simple. You want to be better than  your previous self.

I know what it's like to have my self worth hinge on every athletic performance. The hope that the hard work you put in is a reflection of the person you are day to day.

You are already a hard worker, but you want to make sure that your results are a reflection of the person you are.

You know you have more to give as an athlete. You're just not sure how to do it.

And here is the thing…

You don't need to work harder.

You just need to direction and context to give you the best chance of truly unlocking your potential for yourself.

And I can show you how.

With the help of a highly trained running and strength coach, I can give you the workouts I know will make you faster and the peace of mind that your work will pay off on race day.

If you are sick of wondering if you are doing the right workouts and not seeing the results on race day….

…If you are confused and overwhelmed by the constant posts, and information pushed out through social media from people that don't know what they are doing…

… and if you feel like you could make the leap as an athlete if you could just run faster, or get stronger, or eat properly…

…if you are tired of stepping to the starting line and hoping that this might be the day you break through, only to fall short of your personal record AGAIN…

…and if you are tired of trying to do it on your own with no one to celebrate your wins and help you through your struggles...

… if you are ready to make a full commitment to this sport and to drop all of the excuses…

Then Reinforced Running Coaching is for you.

The great thing about programming with Rich is that it’s not a blanket program but rather very personalized. The workouts were tailored to my goal (a 5k at the time) and took into account feedback from conversations with Rich. The confidence in my own abilities has gotten so much better. I also find myself more excited about running than at any other point in my life.

Rich is a great coach and has exceeded my expectations.  Compared to other personal trainers, he has definitely invested more time and personalized approach than anyone else I’ve experienced. I totally trust Rich and feel like I’m in good hands.

Take Action

From my experience as a high level athlete and professional coach, I’ve learned there is more to coaching than the hard workouts.

Any workouts can make you faster.

Shit, you can do the same workout every single day and will see improvement. For a while anyway.

But I learned workouts were not enough. I wanted a program that was made for me. Something that I could believe in.

I realized other athletes wanted the same thing.

That is why I started Reinforced Running. To give athletes a custom plan they could trust AND proven workouts that will make them faster.

This is how I have gotten results from the hundreds of athletes I have coached in the past.

I will put on a focus on your experience. Your personality. Your schedule. And your goals.

I can help you get better race results and you can get them now.

So let’s stop wasting time and starting getting faster.
