Learn exactly what you need to do to get better OCR results.

On race day, everything boils down to you, the course, and your fitness.

At this point, you've worked hard. You've run whenever you could fit it into your schedule. So you've done everything you can with the time you have.

You feel as ready as possible.

At the line you see a few fast athletes and you tell yourself you are going to stick to them like glue. So you latch onto them as soon as the race starts.

But after a long uphill they begin to create a small gap. Then after some tight turns they are out of sight. After a heavy carry they are completely out of mind.

Then you start the think - what can I do to get better for next time so I can stay with them?

So then it’s back to training - you already work hard so you don’t really know where to go from here.

But it’s confusing to know if you are doing the right things to get better at OCR.

There are unlimited ways to structure a training plan and there are so many elements of the sport that it’s hard to know what will make you better.

So you think you have to experiment by doing everything. But doing everything at once is a sure fire way to stay stuck in the same place.

If you are going to take time out of your schedule, you want to make sure you are doing the things that will work for you. Your experience. Your goals. Your timeline.

High achievers and doers don't need a kick in the butt to get out the door. For someone like you, clear and specific direction is critical. You are going to do the work either way - but doing the right work is what will make the difference in your race results.

This is where we can guide you.

We help athletes who want to know how fast they can run on race day. At Reinforced Running, we coach athletes one-on-one to help them maximize their potential.

Everything is custom-built around you. You will have the confidence that the workouts you are doing will make you the best OCR athlete possible.

You can get:

Stop wondering if you are doing the workouts and start a program that will make you faster.

My name is Rich, and I am running coach of 10 years and a professional obstacle course racer.

With top ten finishes in national level races and coach to pro team level athletes

I have taken my knowledge of endurance, strength, and on course experience to develop a philosophy that makes faster obstacle course racers.

The story above is true.

I thought I had it figured out without even trying. I thought this sport was made for me.

I was wrong.

I was spinning my wheels doing the wrong things during training and wasting time.

I envisioned myself crossing the finish line without a problem and standing on the podium. But what I got was a face full of mud and a heavy dose of failure.

But you can learn from my failure and from the mistakes made by many OCR athletes.

Can you answer yes to any of the below questions?

What you need is clear direction and a plan that will help YOU as an athlete

Everyone is coming to our sport with different needs. That is why there is no such thing as a one size fits all program.

Now let me tell you a bit about Christina.

Christina is a CrossFit OG and a highly competitive athlete.

CrossFit is the cousin of OCR. So it did not take Christina long to find Spartan race.

A CrossFitter is a very confident person when it comes to fitness. I'm sure they have told you. The constantly varied high-intensity functional movement training leads athletes to believe that they can do anything.

However, CrossFit, or any high-intensity program, is missing one major component that you need for OCR.

Running Capacity

Christina found this out the hard way during her first three races.

She never did penalty burpees and would hammer the carries, but she just could not keep up in between the obstacles.

That’s when we started working together.

We made a custom plan for exactly what Christina needed. We worked to improve her aerobic capacity by spending more time running and doing speed workout to make her a faster.

We planned gym workouts to maintain her already high level of strength. We blended the right dose of running and strength training to give her the ability to use both skills during a race.

She finished her season with outstanding efforts in the elite field at Spartan North American Championships and at Spartan World Championships and is now a Spartan Pro Team member.

How to get better results is a matter of learning what you need as an athlete. Plain and simple.

There is not secret. Just context. So how do you know what will work for you?

From Overtrained to the Podium

Tim has a demanding full time job and a full time family. But he is also an OCR athlete who wants to compete.

He knows the value of pushing himself and the personal growth that come from struggle. OCR is perfect for him.

For Tim, the AG wave was an opportunity to get out of his comfort zone and to push his limits.

He had lofty goals of standing on the podium and becoming a top racer at the Spartan World Championships. But high-level performance does not happen overnight.Tim was no exception.

He thought the harder he worked, the faster he would improve. But he never reached the podium and most of the time ended up injured, sick, and stuck in the same place.

Then we started to work together and made a plan that would fit him in his goals. A plan that would build is weaknesses and take advantage of his strengths.

We tested several methods to find something that would match his needs. Over time we found a sweet spot for Tim that led to sustainable and consistent improvement. Now we know exactly how Tim can train hard, recover fast, and race well.

Then this happened..

Tim is on the highest one.

For Tim, it was not a secret workout and it most certainly was not a template or group training program. It was hard and smart work that led to continuous improvement. His confidence is at an all-time high as he sets his sights on the rest of the season.

Tim has his own unique story, and his path to success was not easy, but he made it happen.

With the help of a coach, you can make it happen too.

This isn't just about podiums, finisher photos, and medals

At the end of the day, your goals are pretty simple. You want to beat your competition and better yourself.

I know what it's like to have my self worth hinge on every athletic performance. The hope that the hard work you put in is a reflection of the person you are day to day.

You are already a hard worker, but you want to make sure that your results are a reflection of the person you are.

You know you have more to give as an athlete. You're just not sure how to do it.

And here is the thing…

You 'don't need to work harder.

You just need to direction and context to give you the best chance of truly unlocking your potential for yourself.

And I can show you how.

With the help of a highly trained running and strength coach, I can give you the workouts I know will make you faster and the peace of mind that your work will pay off on race day.

If you are sick of wondering if you are doing the right workouts and not seeing the results on race day….

…If you are confused and overwhelmed by the constant posts, and information pushed out through social media from people that don't know what they are doing…

… and if you feel like you could make the leap as an athlete if you could just run faster, or get stronger, or stop failing obstacles…

…if you are tired of stepping to the starting line and hoping that this might be the day you break through, only to finish behind the same athletes AGAIN…

…and if you are tired of trying to do it on your own with no one to celebrate your wins and help you through your struggles...

… if you are ready to make a full commitment to this sport and to drop all of the excuses…

Then Reinforced Running OCR coaching is for you.

Alan F.

Rich carefully planned out my program. He added my mileage gradually, but also pushed me hard. He also programmed strength training to improve my obstacles efficiency. The program was challenging but at no point I felt like it couldn’t be done. I was never at risk of overtraining or injury. With all the 20+miles long runs and race simulation, I was confident going into the race, I have a good chance of finishing. Being confident is very important going into an Ultra. I trained with other programs before, but those are very generic. Rich‘s program is catered to each individual athlete. He is very approachable, so the communication is always good. He will adjust your program accordingly.

This is different because Rich took the time to learn about me and what I needed, on a personal level. The group stuff was fun, but it was more about getting everyone through the workouts. Now that Rich understands things I need help with, and adjustments that I need to make he personalizes my plan for that. I also am not a road race runner like others, I do OCR events which is different than a road race and Rich having knowledge of both is able to help me maximize my goals for OCR.

Take Action

From my experience as a high level athlete and professional coach, I’ve learned there is more to coaching than the hard workouts.

Any workouts can make you faster.

Shit, you can do the same workout every single day and will see improvement. For a while anyway.

But I learned workouts were not enough. I wanted a program that was made for me. Something that I could believe in.

I realized other athletes wanted the same thing.

That is why I started Reinforced Running. To give athletes a custom plan they could trust AND proven workouts that will make them faster.

This is how I have gotten results from the hundreds of athletes I have coached in the past.

I will put on a focus on your experience. Your personality. Your schedule. And your goals.

I can help you get better race results and you can get them now.

So let’s stop wasting time and starting getting faster.
